Our Kindergarten students were in for a fun surprise when a 4th-grade Mystery Reader stopped by to share a story—along with a special puppet friend! The puppet helped bring the story to life, keeping our young learners engaged, laughing, and excited about reading.

It was wonderful to see our older Mustangs stepping into leadership roles and creating such a joyful reading experience for our Kindergarten classrooms. Way to go, Mustangs! 🐴📖 #Mustangsmakeithappen #Leaderinme

A Kindergarten classroom had a special treat today with a Mystery Reader! Students were excited to guess who was visiting before enjoying a wonderful story together. Moments like these help spark a love of reading and remind our students how fun books can be when shared with others.

Thank you to our Mystery Reader for taking the time to visit and make reading even more magical for our youngest Mustangs! 🐴💙 #Mustangsmakeithappen

The students in Ms. Novack’s room got a real treat! They performed their reader’s theater in front of a professional actor! Marie from Chicago Med offered amazing feedback and gave the fourth graders some tips, such as using your voice to show emotions and different ways to move your body to show a setting (like how your body might move if you are sitting on a bus). Thanks to the wonderful fourth-grade performers and Ms. Novack for the invitation!

Super proud of these first graders who read to Ms. Darlene, our Health Coordinator, and Ms. Kim, the office. It can be hard to read out loud, especially to an audience, but this group did it calmly and happily! We are very pleased by the growth in confidence these first graders have shown.

We are celebrating students who are living out Habit #6: Synergize® from Leader in Me!

These students understand that together is better. By listening to others’ ideas, valuing different perspectives, and working as a team, they create solutions that are even stronger than they could make on their own. 🤝✨

Whether collaborating on class projects, solving problems on the playground, or encouraging teammates, they show that true leadership means working with others, not just alongside them.

We are so proud of the way our students combine their strengths to achieve great things!

Synergy in Action! ✨

Our Mighty Mini Mustangs saw a problem on the playground… and they didn’t wait for someone else to fix it. 💥

They planned, organized, recruited, and executed a full playground clean-up all on their own! The “Garbage Gang” sprang into action — working together, dividing jobs, and showing what true leadership looks like.

Our 4th graders took storytelling to the next level this week as they proudly presented their fractured fairy tales to our 2nd-grade students! 📚✨

After putting creative twists on classic tales, our 4th graders shared their writing with confidence, expression, and plenty of humor. The 2nd graders were an amazing audience—full of smiles, laughter, and thoughtful listening.

This special cross-grade experience built leadership, speaking skills, and school community. We love seeing our students learn from one another and shine in new ways! 💙👏

Students in a 4th-grade classroom are truly synergizing—working together, valuing each other’s ideas, and creating solutions that are even better than they could have developed on their own. Through Habit 6: Synergize, part of Leader in Me, students are learning that teamwork isn’t just about sharing materials—it’s about listening, encouraging, and combining strengths.

When students collaborate with purpose, amazing things happen. We are proud of the leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills our Mustangs are building every day! 🐾✨

Our students are hard at work on their Leader in Me WIG (Wildly Important Goal) binders! 🎯📚

Using the principles from The Leader in Me, students are setting meaningful goals, tracking their progress, and reflecting on their growth. These binders help them take ownership of their learning, celebrate successes, and build lifelong leadership habits. We love seeing students take initiative, stay organized, and work toward their personal and academic goals. The future is bright when our leaders are leading themselves! 🌟
