Learn Lead Serve

Planning for the 2023-2024 school year and beyond is underway! An important step in that process is evaluating students' success as it relates to our District mission, vision, beliefs, and goals.

Our Mission

To achieve excellence by empowering and inspiring students to learn, lead, and serve.

Our Vision

All students will achieve excellence.

All students are leaders.

All stakeholders are actively engaged in education.

Our Beliefs

We serve each other with trust and value open communication among all stakeholders.

We believe we all learn in unique ways and can be successful.

We deserve a safe and respectful environment where everyone working together will be challenged and encouraged.

Our Goals

Improve academic achievement for all students.

Provide a safe, nurturing and inviting learning environment.

Enhance and retain a competent and caring staff.

Actively engage our community in the life of the district.

Maintain financial stability.

We recognize school, family, and stakeholder partnerships are what make District 41 exceptional. Therefore, we are seeking your input for setting district priorities that ensure our students are successful and future-ready. This is an endeavor of critical importance. One where we invite staff, families, and community members to share their voices. Our collaborative efforts will allow us to set priorities, establish common goals, and allocate resources to ensure student success in a constantly changing environment.

In addition, we will develop a Portrait of a Graduate for Lake Villa Schools. Our Portrait of a Graduate will represent our vision for the skills and character traits students need to succeed in college, career, and life.

How Can District 41 Families and Staff Participate in our Portrait of a Graduate Planning Process?

  1. Learn more about the process by clicking on the Portrait of a Graduate tab under the Parents and Students section of our website.

  2. Complete our Community Input Survey. The survey will help us to understand our school stakeholders’ aspirations for the current and future members of our school community. The survey should take approximately five minutes to complete, and will close on September 8th.

  3. Join our Planning Committee Events! We are seeking a cross-section of stakeholders (parents, staff, students, and District 41 community members) to engage in focused discussions for the purpose of identifying our district’s future needs. The Planning Committee Events will take place from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on the following dates:  September 27th, October 3rd, and October 19th. If you would like to participate, please fill out the interest form by September 1st. Space is limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible. We ask that you are available to attend all three meetings.

We are excited to welcome and partner with you as we plan for the future of this great school district.

Kindly,

Sandra Keim-Bounds, Superintendent
