As an educator of 27 years, including nine years in Lake Villa School District 41, I am ecstatic to work with the greater educational community in my second year in this role.  I believe our District can reach new heights with our dedicated teaching staff and leadership district-wide.

Before my seven years in Lake Villa District 41, I served as Principal of Prairie Grove Elementary and Prairie Grove Junior High for ten years and an assistant principal for two years.  Prior to moving to Prairie Grove, I served as a teacher and acting assistant principal at Queen of All Saints, Mannheim School District 83, and Schaumburg School District 54.

I’ve presented at state-wide conferences as well as locally, including at the Leader in Me Midwest Symposium, Illinois Association of School Boards Conference, Midwest PBIS Conference, and various district professional development workshops.

Within Lake Villa District 41, I have assisted with our most recent curriculum review cycle, re-energized learning options by enhancing encores at the middle school, built a positive school culture, co-led the ALICE initiative along with Dr. Klene, created the Lake Villa mentoring guide for new staff, led school improvement planning, facilitated the transition of sixth grade into the middle school, engaged families through virtual learning, and mentored incoming principals.

Prior to Lake Villa School District, I led curriculum review cycles, wrote and secured district-wide grants, created the Multi-Tiered System of Support process, was a member of two strategic planning cycles, led the PBIS initiative, and assisted with a district referendum.

Strengthening my skills and passion for teaching and learning is of the utmost importance to me.  I have earned my Doctorate in School Administration from Aurora University, Master's Degree in School Administration from Northeastern Illinois University, and Bachelor's Degree from Northern Illinois University.

I am a devoted father to three children: a two-year-old, a high school senior, and a college junior. My wife is a middle school teacher in Fremont School District 79, and they reside in Buffalo Grove.  Together we like to attend sporting events, travel by boat, and watch the kids act and sing on stage.  Additionally, I am fond of sports, music, and learning about other people.
